"Are you right mum?!"

First Day photos - Miss Flowergarden is going into Yr 10 and has done all this before . . .

. . . or was it her late night, after re-reading her timetable from the bottom of her school bag from December, and realising that school started WED not THUR!!

. . . at least she saw it when she did!

But it was this little fella I was excited about.  He had his times all correct and his uniform ready.  My baby has started on his next chapter, and has started High School.

They're good mates - and for this I am thankful
Early to bed tonight!

Something for Sarah

Like my quilting, I work best "free-style"

I cut a newspaper paper pattern of this skirt from a friend last year, and it has just surfaced in a Sewing Room Tidy.

Sarah and her little waist were pleased with the results.
Said friend got the first version, as it was just too tiny - I'm going to try one for myself, but check measurements first!!

These were the little baby birds yesterday. Just over a week old.
They are starting to look more and more like birds every day.

This was a few days before.  It's amazing how quickly they change and grow.
They have been great source of holiday entertainment for quite a bit of our neighbourhood.

. . . oh, and I fitted in a Scrappy Quilt Top in there somewhere.
Nothing more done on it of course.

But lots of my fabourite Amy Fabrics

Tiger Lilly Love

A lovely pot of Impatients at my back door.

Jayne Austin - looking beautiful today in my back garden.

Tiger Lilly Love

A special white dwarf Aggapanthus that I bought at Lambley last year ....  it's first flowering.

Tess of the d'Urbervilles in the morning sun.

. . . and a finale for the holidays . . .
I took the children to the Adventure Park in Geelong for the day.

~Lots of Pirate "stuff" there~

Our Pussy Cats have been having lots of success with Mice lately - even a baby bunny from the paddocks which we rescued!

It was fun watching them play,
but unfortunatly my camera batteries died at the crucial moment.

Kimono

My Quilting Friend Maria
is having a Solo Exhibition of her Quilts

Opening on Wednesday 30th Jan. in Ballarat.
Maria also has a blog called www.apiecefullife.blogspot.com
She is hoping to have a blog meet and meet the artist on the Wed ~ if anone is close by to Ballarat and would like to join us for Coffee, that would be great.

This is what I've been up to . . . my neighbour over the road bought a new dress for an outing this Saturday.  She thought a little bag might be nice.
It is the Wristlet Pattern from Nichole Mallaleau - I've learnt all my best bag making skills from Nikki.

I even used a bit more from my Winter Boot, for the "dingle" at the front!

She was thrilled with the result, and so was I.

. . . and then there were 2.  Some mothers can only manage 2 babies, so these 2 beauties are nearly a week old now, and when I checked tonight, were just just just starting to get some yellow feathers.  They survived the VERY HOT DAY yesterday, so I think they are going to be OK.

Three New Babies

3 new babies this weekend, and yesterday morning, I even saw one of them coming out of the egg.  They are SO tiny!

Mum is never far away, but she lets us look and admire them which is nice.  I tell her how clever she is.

We've had a couple of cooler days, so I've been working hard in the garden, putting down some top soil and some mulch.  My body is hurting!

This is what is left of my old wobbly seat out the back where I used to sit and admire my good work.  I was sad to see it go, but then had a brain wave. . .

I had more chairs in the shed, and I made this little table out of old junk lying around. Now a perfect, and comfortable place to sit and think.
