Around the Block Excitement!

For some time now, I've been receiving little parcels in the mail with fabric and created a block or two and sent the little parcels far and wide. I've been in the Around the Block Quilting Group and it's been great. The best part so far, however has been June. It is my month in June, and although it was a bit of work, sending out all the fabric and deciding on a theme for my quilt, it's been a flurry of excitement each day going out to my mail box and finding one of those little parcels addressed to me.
I chose a circle theme and am just loving seeing what people have come up with. I chose colours from my stash all around the colour wheel and sent out 15 parcels each with an individual colour (some doubled up). I chose all my very favourite pieces and am looking forward to actually putting it together, as I have no idea at this stage what it is going to look like. It's going to be a circle surprise.
Thank you girls - keep that post coming!

Another Finish

A good start to the holidays. I've been working on this quilt for my lovely neighbour for a couple of months, but last night did the binding, and . . . ta dah! I'll do the official hand over tonight. It's great to have good neighbours and I really appreciate all that she does for me.

Express Quilting

Just
snuck
this
in
before the end of term. Remember my lovely new birdcage. Well, my nice Assistant Prin gave it to me, so generously, so I thought I'd make this little quilt for his 4yr old daughter as she is very fond of pussy cats.
Had all the bits in my cupboard, so it was just a matter of, as my neighbour calls it . . .
"express quilting"
Holidays are here for 2 weeks!

An oldie but a goodie

A frosty morning this am, and I couldn't resist going back inside to get my camera.

I made this quilt in 2007 - but it was hanging on the line the other day -
- and I was admiring my handywork, so thought I'd share these pics with you.

Blocks and Trains

Around the Block pieced and posted
. . . and a long overdue promise to Master 10 who just loves trains
A lovely tea towel given to us by Nanna, but unaccustomed as we are to drying dishes,
thought it a much better idea to use it as fabric, and make it into a cushion
He was rapt!

Sharing some Autumn Glory

Let me introduce you to our 3 newest editions. The bright yellow one is Sunny, the Green Speckled one is called Lexar (after Pete's USB) and the white one with blue tinges is called Betty Bird.

Finally with the passage of time, I some of my own Autumn leaves. I am just LOVING them, even though we have just clicked into Winter.

It hasn't stopped me from being the "Resident Leaf Thief" around Ballarat still.

My Medlar Tree is just stunning this year.

Reports in full swing

Yes, that time of year again for teachers, and I don't know why I had to completely, I mean COMPLETELY rearrange the furniture in my sewing room. There are literally piles upon piles of projects and paperwork EVERYWHERE!!!!! (the above photo was taken last year in a much neater state than now)
hmmmm the things I do under pressure - oh, and I did whip up this skirt in denim with a stretchy band for Miss 12. I was just thrilled she wanted "her mum" to make her a skirt.
I am definitely going up in the fashion stakes.
Deadline Mon - I wonder what will happen next around here!
