Around the Block in the Mixtape Garden

This one really confused me. Sometimes I just can't work thinks out and sometimes I can. I made all sorts of peaks and jaggers, but nothing looked particularly like a star. I found some tutes on line and carefully followed instructions (not my best side!!) and I managed these 2 for Bronwyn. I hope she likes them. I packaged up all my blunders as well and maybe she can use them some where in her quilt or recut them to make more.
I'm pleased to be posting this one off.
Getting away from "instructions" and back to Gardening,
where I am much more comfortable . . .
The new MixTape is out and I have an article in it all about Circus Gardening.
It was a lot of fun to research and write.
You can get your copy here.
That Johnny Jump up BTW is the Ring Master!

A Tie Project

I have a LOT of ties. Has anyone any ideas or experience to share with me of how I could turn them into something "quilt like"? Has anyone made things with ties? My friend and I would love to know . . .

only a friend could say it . . .

2 little monkeys were lost under the "craft vomit" and I'm pleased to say they are rescued and enjoying a better viewing place in the sewing room.
My only regret is that I didn't take a B4 photo - but as it was likened to "craft vomit" I'm sort of glad I didn't.
I found all sorts of fabric, that I forgot I had - I sorted them into colours, categories, sizes . . .
I spent 2 rainy days tidying
. . . and then I rewarded myself beginning a new quilt for Master Flowergarden (14)
and he was pleased

I just needed to MAKE something

I'm in the middle of quilting my 9 patch and it's a HUGE job. I came home from school last night via Ballarat Patchwork, with a Prints Charming panel, and "inspiration"
I just needed to make something, so although I need a trip to Spotlight for a size 18 cushion insert, I FINISHED something! A great feeling.
Ages ago I made this lovely cat bed for my Nellie Puss out of an old felted jumper. She loves it and sleeps in it all the time. We needed one for our Max . . .
. . . so Miss Flowergarden got busy the other night, and
Look who's a lucky boy now!
Yes Nellie, you're still my girl!!
