Inspiration

Inspired by Lucy Locket, I have started a mini quilt wall of my own.
I've been busy this weekend making another couple of orders for aprons - all done!
Inspiration this time from Ric Rac.  I had a go at a mini quilt with selvedges for my new mini quilt wall, with my special Annie Fabric that my friends gave me.
Inspiration this time from Chooky Blue - thanks Chook for inspiring me to get my stipple foot out again and have a go at machine quilting.  It was quick on a mini quilt and a great result.

This is my felting project gone wrong, and now I use it for a special curtain to shield my african violets.  I promised someone I would post these pics.

. . .  and finally, my clever girl . . .
She was quiet in her room, beavering away for ages, and then showed me this.  Wow, I just love the things she makes.

Class Production

I know, I know, I've been unwell the last couple of days, but hey, nothing makes you feel better (or me anyway) than a spot of sewing.
I have started a "Class Production" of my School Bags with Class.
I already had a couple of orders, so thought I'd make up a few more in case anyone else wanted one.  I sell them for $45, so keep an eye out in my Etsy Shop, or shoot me an email.
This one had to be made a second time as it was so loved.  Slightly different of course as they are all individuals.  But I just LOVE the Kristen Doran fabrics.
These little green birdies are a personal favourite of mine.
Mr Flowergarden says I just have to start "acting better", as he says I've had enough time "being sick" - oh, happy days!

I just can't go past these beautiful pictures and not share them.
SOOoooo excited when this red poppy came out the other morning.  I was dancing around the front garden in my pjamas.

Oh . . . I'm sorry

Many apologies for my last post where I "banged on" about my chooks and omitted to include photographs.
I hunted back through the archives and came up with these.  Remember my little Chick Chick?
She is now my biggest chook and lays the most beautiful brown eggs.
. . . and so the report writing continues, the distractions I'm coming up with are endless!

Crazy Chooks

Amidst my beautiful blooms, I have some "crazy chooks."  Mrs Clucky who is my teenage son's chook has taken to sleeping up the nectarine tree in the chook yard.  My friend says that "perhaps it just needs it's space!."  Another chook, Frances, is patiently sitting on eggs, despite the fact that we regularly remove the eggs for our breakfast.  The other 2, Storm and Chick Chick are just trying to get on with business around all this strange behaviour.  Nelly puss keeps them company by day, sleeping under the rosemary bush.

Report Time

I have been known to to make quilts to avoid the task of school report writing.  This time, I think I will be tempted to go out in my Spring Garden.

I will use a spot of gardening as a reward - bit of reports, bit of gardening, bit of reports, bit of gardening .  .  .

and so the weekend begins
